In this course, we will see how computer science in general, and computational thinking/programming specifically, plays a role in either a specific form of entertainment or as a vehicle for self-expression in areas like
Movies & Television (e.g. 2D or 3D animations, computational special effects)
Music (e.g. computational music, digital instruments)
Games (e.g. video game programming, animation)
Art (e.g. interactive art, computational art)
This course (6 classes) is an introductory computational thinking course for 6-10th grade students. Mapped to CSTA standards, the entire series (4 sessions of 6 classes each) takes a wide lens on computer science by covering topics such as computational problem solving, programming, physical computing, user centered design, and data, while inspiring students as they build their own websites, apps, animations, games, AI/machine learning models and physical computing systems.
